New Years Eve is almost upon us and these yummy Bacon Wrapped Dates are thee perfect party appetizer. A simple recipe requiring only 3 ingredients and minimal cooking time makes these another win in my book! Even my hubby who can’t cook much more than a fried egg, has learned how to make these sweet and savory date wraps!
If you bought dates to make my healthy delicious Fresh Orange Julius and you are wondering what else to use them for, then you are in the right place. These sweet and sticky dates are filled with sharp, tangy blue cheese and wrapped in salty bacon.
You start by partially cooking your bacon. Next you pit and stuff your date, and finally the date is wrapped and securing with a toothpick before placing in the oven.
Stuffed Blue Cheese Bacon Wrapped Dates
6 Bacon Strips, cut into thirds
18 (Medjool) dates, pits removed
2/3 cup crumbled Blue CheesePreheat oven to 375 F.
Cut each bacon strip into thirds. In a large skillet, cook bacon in batches over medium heat until partially cooked but not crisp. Remove to paper towels to drain; keep warm.
Carefully cut a slit in the center of each date, remove pit; fill with blue cheese, and push closed. Wrap a bacon piece around each stuffed date (seam side up); secure with wooden toothpicks.
Bake on an ungreased baking sheet (I line mine with parchment for easy cleanup) for 10-12 minutes or until bacon is crisp.
*Best served warm
ENJOY!
