This Creamy Chocolate Smoothie is one of our favorites to make. It’s perfect after a hard workout, working in the yard, or long hike. It’s creamy, thick, rich, and filling; making it the perfect choice when you aren’t in the mood for a fruit-type smoothie.
It’s loaded with healthy fats and good for your nutrients. It’s even gluten, dairy, and refined sugar free! Throw everything into a High-Speed Blender and Voilà!
Creamy Chocolate Smoothie {Gluten, Dairy, & Refined Sugar Free}
- 8 oz unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk {found here, here or here}
- 1 banana
- 2 Medjool dates, pitted {found here, Costco also carries them in their produce section}
- 1/2 of an avadado, pitted
- 2 Tbsp Cacao or cocoa powder {found here}
- 1- 2 Tbsp almond butter {found here or here}
- 1 Tbsp flaxseed {found here}
- *1/2-1 cup ice.
Combine all ingredients into a *high speed blender. Blend until smooth and enjoy!
*Adjust ice for desired thickness.
*Occasionally I add about 1 Tbsp of chia seeds.
*A high speed blender is essential. If you don’t use one, you will most likely end up with chunks of date in your smoothie. I have this blender {I actually have the 6300 version, but couldn’t find one on amazon for a decent price or with free shipping}, and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! It’s pricey, but you will never need to buy another blender! Costco also carries this model.
If you are not quite sure what to do with the container of dates you may have boughten for this recipe, try some of my other recipes containing dates below.
