Warm Summer nights are my absolute favorite!
We enjoy chatting around a late dinner, roasting marshmallows over the fire, eating homemade ice cream, listening to crickets, playing night games, sleeping out, or watching an outdoor movie… but I detest the mosquitoes that seem to love me!
I’m not a huge fan of chemical filled bug sprays, so this year am excited to plant a mosquito repellent planter for our back patio!
It smells heavenly; but hopefully the mosquitoes will detest the smells as much as I detest them, ha!
This is a fun, quick, project that I hope keeps us bug bite free all summer long!
You’ll Need:
-Planter; mine is about 18×18 (similar linked here)
-Water
-Plants:
1 Citronella
2 ‘Lemon Gem’ Marigold
3 Lemon Grass
2 Catnip
3 Ageratum
4 Lemon Thyme
Here is a diagram to help you best place your plants in your pot. Happy planting!
I’d love to see your pots! Be sure and tag me @thegardenspot and use the hashtag #mosquitorepellentplanter so I can see your fun pots!
