Did you know it’s officially Spring?? This is the earliest the spring equinox has been in 124 years!  And the flowers seem to know it!

Keep Fresh Cut Flowers Blooming Longer

I love fresh cut flowers in my house. In order to help their blooms last longer, here are 3 simple recipes to keep your blooms looking good longer!

Hopefully between the three recipes, you’ll be able to find one with things you have on hand!

Keep Fresh Cut Flowers Blooming Longer

Homemade cut flower food.

Recipe 1:
{Lemon, sugar, bleach}
2 Tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
1 Tablespoon of sugar
1/2 tsp household bleach
Pour into a quart of water.
The lemon juice will lower the pH, the sugar will give your cut flowers nourishment, and the bleach will help to prevent bacteria from growing.

Recipe 2:
{Apple Cider Vinegar & Sugar}
1 tsp Apple cider vinegar
1 tsp sugar

Add to one quart of water.
The vinegar kills the bacteria and fungi so your flowers will thrive. Sugar feeds.

Recipe 3:
Lemon Lime Soda

One part Lemon-Lime Soda {Do not use Diet or other flavored sodas} to 3 parts water.

The soda has the acid and sugar the flowers need to survive.

Happy Blooms!

Carly-
